So you want us to publish your project? Fantastic! Please read the notes below to ensure you send us what we need and how we need it.<\/p>\n
We don’t have formal criteria for selecting projects but in general are looking for content that is fresh, innovative, newsworthy, has a good story behind it and fantastic images. We get tons of submissions and we can’t reply to everyone, although we do try to look at everything.<\/p>\n
To submit a project for consideration, simply email us a selection of good jpegs (at least 3000 pixels on the shortest sides), some text about the project and links where appropriate.\u00a0Please have a look at our\u00a0copyright policy\u00a0before submitting material.<\/p>\n
If you need to send zipped images or links to filesharing sites, please send a few sample images in your email to give us an idea of your project. Please\u00a0don’t scrimp on the number of images \u2013 the more, the better.<\/p>\n
If we like the look of the project we’ll be in touch. It may take us some time to get back to you. It’s fine to send us the odd gentle reminder \u2013 we are only human and we do overlook things sometimes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile we’ll add you to our contributors mailing list (a list of people who’ve submitted projects to us or have been published). You’ll therefore receive the occasional email from us.<\/p>\n
If you do not want to receive these emails<\/strong>, please make this clear in your submission. It’s fine, we understand. Or you can unsubscribe at any time.<\/p>\n We are more likely to publish\u00a0projects that are sent to us exclusively. If you are offering us an exclusive, please make this clear in your submissions email.<\/p>\n If you have a movie related to your project, send it in! We usually upload submitted movies to our own channels (particularly\u00a0YouTube,\u00a0Facebook\u00a0and\u00a0Instagram) rather than embedding from other accounts. We may edit\u00a0movies\u00a0but we’ll ask for your permission first.<\/p>\n Plans, sections and sketches\u00a0are very popular with our readers, so please include them if you can.<\/p>\n Send us project credits! Especially for the images. We are rarely able to pay for photography but we will happily give credits, links and full copyright details where appropriate. Many photographers happily give us free imagery as publication on Double Take Blog is a good way to promote their work and often leads to commissions from other publications.<\/p>\n When we’ve published your project please share like crazy on social media, newsletters, your website and so on. It will help your project get more visits and more attention. Don’t be shy!<\/p>\n Hopefully people will comment on your project in our comments section. Hopefully the comments will be intelligent and constructive. Even if they’re not please get involved by responding, challenging and generally engaging with our audience.
