Melissa contacted me last winter about shooting her wedding in McCall, Idaho. She lives in Florida, but grew up in Idaho. We would not get the chance to meet until her wedding day. Fast forward to the big day. After a beautiful drive to McCall, we followed a winding dirt road to find a rustic cabin with breathtaking views of the mountains where the couple and their family was staying. That was the first of many lovely surprises that day. Meeting Melissa and Carter was another delight. Friendly, generous and kind; they treated us like part of the family.
Melissa and Carter held their quiet ceremony in the backyard of the cabin, which overlooks the river. The quiet setting of only their closest family and friends lent a warmth and intimacy that was truly special. The mood of their reception was a mixture of tears and joy as everyone gathered for a delicious meal, toasts, cake and dancing while the dusky sky faded to black, and a blanket of stars glowed overhead. Afterward, the party moved to inside the cabin, where they enjoyed a shot or two, a lot of laughter, and each other’s company.
Thank you, Melissa and Carter. You are so beautiful together, and it’s plain to see that you value and appreciate the most important things in life…close family and friends. It was an honor to be a part of such a wonderful day.
Thanks, also to my friend and assistant photographer, Frank Espinoza. Several of the photos below are his, and the day wouldn’t have been the same without him.
And now….on to the images!
