Elegant, charming, warm. These words describe the delightful wedding of Taryn and Hicham. When I first met this darling couple for coffee, Taryn shared the sweet story of how she met Hicham while she was vacationing his native homeland, Morocco. A long distance friendship ensued, and soon, romance bloomed. Their chemistry is obvious. Taryn and Hicham absolutely glow with happiness around each other.
Taryn chose Century Hall for her wedding venue. I adored everything about it, and also Taryn’s classic sense of style. Built in 1900, Century Hall is a rustic building on Highway 16 that features the old-fashioned charm of days gone by. With hardwood floors, painted wood siding, candles and chandeliers, the vintage setting was lovely and inviting. Taryn chose deep shades of purple as her primary color, and many of the details were handcrafted by Taryn herself, including the gorgeous flower arrangements that adorned each table. She also made the wedding cake that she and Hicham shared.
The exotic array of food was absolutely delicious. It was prepared as a wedding gift to the couple by dear friends. Many of the dishes originated from the Middle-East and Asia. For desert, guests enjoyed a variety of cupcakes.
A very special moment came near the end of the evening, when Taryn sang a beautiful song she wrote to Hicham. She accompanied herself on the piano and she has the voice of an angel.
What an amazing, special, perfect day! Thank you for letting me be a part of it, Taryn and Hicham. You are so wonderful together….congratulations!

This lovely couple prepared much of the food for the wedding:

I cant remember what this dish was called, but it was cooked in a huge cast iron pot. Pork, rice, garbanzo beans and spices… SO delicious:
